Digital Convergence and Media

The term “Digital Media” is relevant to all the media born and based on ITC networks. Much discussion has been carried out concerning the features of new media features and its profiles. Useful references are Lev Manovich and Derrick de Kerchove.

The former is a technical guru, interested in stressing the digital convergence and the importance of Software in this convergence process, see for instance "software studies" and to Language of New Media. The latter is the main disciple of Marshal MacLuhan, the famous professor of Media in Toronto, he is director of the McLuhan Program in Culture & Technology since 1983, in Toronto University.
